In the area of San Leone lays one of the most popular beaches in the whole province of Agrigento. The sandy coastline elongates for several kilometers, on which are alternating areas reserved for bathing on stretches of free beach.
Thanks to its proximity to Agrigento, the location is often preferred by tourists visiting the Valley of the Temples or by lovers of surfing who take advantage of the winds of the Strait of Sicily to ride the waves. In the evening, San Leo is incredibly lively with bars and beach clubs that organize beach parties, while the restaurants and taverns are hurrying to prepare delicious dinners of fish.
Continuing in the direction east until you reach the area of Fiumenaro, much quieter than San Leone, it’s where the beach (mostly free and deprived of services) stretches for several kilometers, gradually sloping towards the sea.
Punta Bianca is the locality situated at the eastern end of the Gulf of Agrigento, in which stands the white rocky ridge, very similar to the more famous Scala dei Turchi. Perhaps, for the lack of easy access (in fact you must walk a steep road to reach it) Punta Bianca is as beautiful as it is unknown.
At the foot of the promontory there are small and cozy sandy beaches, lapped by crystal clear water through which reflects the colors of a Caribbean backdrop: it will not be a bad idea to take a swim with fins and mask to discover this incredible natural treasure.
