The Beaches of Licata
The beaches of Licata occupy over 20 kilometers of coastline, alternating in long and quiet beaches to rocky headlands overlooking the sea.
On the eastern side, the most well-known is Falconara Sicula: during the summer the beach is bustling, in what lays between two headlands, dominated by a picturesque private castle, which give character to the entire landscape.
La Playa is the beach of par excellence in Licata. It is located right in front of the city, for a stretch of coastline that stretches for 4 km: it is busy during the summer and animated by the young people who are in the several areas of the beach, one more reason to have fun under the sun of Sicily.
The Marianiello Beach opens just below a huge rocky ridge that protects it from the winds of this part of the coast. The coast here is broad and it is difficult to find it fully occupied: without equipment, do not forget to bring a big umbrella to put in the sand. The rocky bottom also allows you to get in a few hours of snorkeling.
The Beach Mouth of Gallina has maintained all its natural habitat, with sand dunes and the Mediterranean scrub that run the entire coast; and recommended as certainly one of the most interesting and quiet places of the area.
The Mollarella beach is the most famous of Licata and among the most popular of the entire southern coast of Sicily. Located about 5 kilometers from the center of town, it is characterized by its hook-shaped, in which, at the end, rises the promontory of the Caduta. The beauty of the shoreline, punctuated by rocky cliffs that rise a few dozen meters from the coast, along with the services from local establishments, makes it an ideal place for young people and families.
The Nicolizia Balatazze coast is perfect for those who love to explore the depths. Beautiful in all its natural splendor, it is a pure stretch of rocky coast and does not provide very easy access to the sea. The location is never too busy, it is suitable for those who want to enjoy plenty of relaxation, explore the marine life, and enjoy this wonderful stretch of sea a few miles from Licata.
