Located in the Gulf of Castellammare, the beach of Balestrate is the westernmost of the entire coast of Palermo. The beach is about 8 kilometers, divided in two by a rocky headland, dense Mediterranean vegetation which extends to the sea: the sand is very fine and the clear sea is ideal for cooling off during the hot summer days. Its landscape is without a doubt impressive, even during less busy periods, when the amplitude of the coast radiates a feeling of natural beauty.
The bathing establishments follow one another along the coast, but for those who prefer, many stretches of the beach are free to use.
Balestrate is a town that comes to life, mainly in the summer: the restaurants offer excellent menus based on seafood; and the clubs and discos are full of youth until the early hours of the morning, while the seafront, recently renovated, is a favorite place of many for an evening’s walk.
