Anyone who finds himself in the city will be able to swim in the mythical waters. At Ortigia, in fact, are set up sun terraces that facilitate the descent through the rocks and allow for a swim just behind Syracuse.
Continuing south on the other hand, opens up the most beautiful scenery and coastline Syracuse has to offer. The first stage is the Marine Reserve of Plemmirio where you can go snorkeling and take diving tours to discover the depths of Syracuse, in a fantastic unspoilt landscape thanks to the preservation of the whole area which forms the peninsula of La Maddalena.
Then you reach into one of the most popular resorts in Syracuse, Arenella. The landscape should be framed in a photo, with the white cliffs that give way to the beautiful beach of fine sand lapped by a crystal clear sea, a favorite place especially for families. You will find numerous beach resorts all along the beaches which offer the possibility to rent beach chairs and umbrellas as well as catering services.
The same beautiful scenery is located in Fontane Bianche, another popular beach resort. The beach stretches for several hundred meters, with its clear blue sea which welcomes thousands of tourists throughout the year. Although most of the beach is reserved for private bathing establishments, the initial part is still free to enjoy. Precisely in this part of the coast, it is customary to melt part of the clay rocks to carry out a small beauty treatment.
There is no lack of large parking lots that allow you to find a place even in the most crowded days.
For those who in fact prefer cliffs and picturesque seascapes, they can stop before at Ognina, a portion of jagged coastline but really nice, with small beaches that make space between the rocks. The fresh and crystal clear water is ideal for those who love to take pictures underwater or simply admire the underwater world.
Finally, Fanusa also worth a dip in its waters, with pleasant sandy beaches, free and less crowded than the other coasts.
